​HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BEGIN DRESS SHOPPING?
To ensure you’re not rushed with your decision-making, we recommend that you begin dress shopping 12-14 months in advance of your wedding date, purchasing 10-12 months in advance of your wedding date. This shopping time is the ideal, not the absolute.

HELP! I'm GETTING MARRIED IN 4 MONTHS!! – is it too late to get a gown from you?
No, it’s not too late, but every second counts! Your options include buying one of our samples off the rack or working with a consultant to determine which designers can meet your time frame for a "special order" gown, which could include an additional rush charge.
HOW LONG WILL MY APPOINTMENT BE?
Our private fittings are scheduled for one hour, but rest assured that if we run over, we will happily schedule another appointment with you to make sure you're taken care of. If you’re not local to Red Deer, let us know in advance so that we can try to accommodate an hour-and-a-half appointment.

WHAT IS THE PRICE RANGE OF YOUR GOWNS?
Our made-to-order gowns range from $1,700 - $3,000, with the bulk of our gowns being in the $1,800-$2,700 range. We encourage you to refer to our Wedding Dresses page to best understand each designer's price range.

WHAT SIZE GOWNS ARE AVAILABLE TO TRY ON AT NOVIA MIA BRIDAL?
Our dress samples range from sizes 2-30. However, having been in the bridal business for a long time, we have several super-clever ways to show the true fit of each dress even if it doesn’t quite fit.
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN I BRING TO MY APPOINTMENT?
As much as we love the idea of a party in our store, we believe that your fitting should be as intimate as possible. We want the focus to stay on you and what style and feeling YOU want to exude on your wedding day. For your sake, we advise keeping your support crew under 4 and for our sake, so that we can comfortably accommodate everyone in our boutique. DO YOU OFFER/INCLUDE ALTERATIONS?
Alternations are a separate cost from the purchase of your gown. We have connected with a handful of local seamstresses in the Red Deer area to refer you to. However, we do not offer in-house alterations. Please note, we are not in contractual agreements with our recommended seamstresses, nor do we receive any payment from them for your business.

HOW MUCH DO ALTERATIONS TYPICALLY COST?
Our gowns are quite simple to alter, but depending on the severity of your alteration needs, expect costs to range from $500-700 on average. For any major customizations, costs can go upwards of $700-1000.

MAY I BRING CHILDREN TO MY APPOINTMENT?
We absolutely love children under the age of 12, however (with the exception of nursing babies), this is not the best environment for this age group. Shopping for your wedding dress is a precious experience where we believe that the bride should be focused on themselves. As Moms, we completely understand that sometimes it is difficult to fully relax when you have your little ones with you. Therefore, we recommend not bringing young children to your bridal appointment.
WHAT UNDERWEAR SHOULD I WEAR FOR MY BRIDAL APPOINTMENT?
To help get the very best idea of how you’ll look and feel on your wedding day in one of our Novia Mia bridal gowns, we’d encourage you to think twice about your underwear selection on appointment day. Nude-colored, seamless underwear works perfectly under bridal gowns and a strapless bra is often useful (even if you bring it along in your handbag!).
IS THERE A CANCELLATION POLICY?
Yes, we kindly ask that you give us at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or re-schedule your fitting. Since we are appointment-only, we thank you in advance for your cooperation, as we take in a very limited amount of brides a day. You will be charged $30 if your appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice

All gowns, bridal accessories, and jewelry are all final sale. Terms and conditions are required to be signed before making any made-to-order purchase with us.
