Wonderful experience! I booked an appt here last min and the ladies were wonderful! I ended up booking a VIP appt which was so much fun! One bridesmaid was about 40 min late for the appt and they were more than understanding with waiting. I almost said yes to the dress the first appointment ! The dresses they have are so beautiful and such great quality. It came in a decent amount of time considering covid made everyone backed up. Such a wonderful unforgettable experience. To ensure you’re not rushed with your decision-making, we recommend that you begin dress shopping 12-14 months in advance of your wedding date, purchasing 10-12 months in advance of your wedding date. This shopping time is the ideal, not the absolute.
No, it’s not too late, but every second counts! Your options include buying one of our samples off the rack or working with a consultant to determine which designers can meet your time frame for a “special order” gown, which could include an additional rush charge.
Our private fittings are scheduled for one hour, but rest assured that if we run over, we will happily schedule another appointment with you to make sure you’re taken care of. If you’re not local to Red Deer, let us know in advance so that we can try to accommodate an hour-and-a-half appointment.
Our made-to-order gowns range from $1,700 – $3,000, with the bulk of our gowns being in the $1,800-$2,700 range. We encourage you to refer to our Wedding Dresses page to best understand each designer’s price range.
Our dress samples range from sizes 2-30. However, having been in the bridal business for a long time, we have several super-clever ways to show the true fit of each dress even if it doesn’t quite fit.
As much as we love the idea of a party in our store, we believe that your fitting should be as intimate as possible. We want the focus to stay on you and what style and feeling YOU want to exude on your wedding day. For your sake, we advise keeping your support crew under 4 and for our sake, so that we can comfortably accommodate everyone in our boutique. If you wish for more guests have a look at our VIP Packages.
Alternations are a separate cost from the purchase of your gown. We have connected with a handful of local seamstresses in the Red Deer area to refer you to. However, we do not offer in-house alterations. Please note, we are not in contractual agreements with our recommended seamstresses, nor do we receive any payment from them for your business.
Our gowns are quite simple to alter, but depending on the severity of your alteration needs, expect costs to range from $500-700 on average. For any major customizations, costs can go upwards of $700-1000.
We absolutely love children under the age of 12, however (with the exception of nursing babies), this is not the best environment for this age group. Shopping for your wedding dress is a precious experience where we believe that the bride should be focused on themselves. As Moms, we completely understand that sometimes it is difficult to fully relax when you have your little ones with you. Therefore, we recommend not bringing young children to your bridal appointment.
To help get the very best idea of how you’ll look and feel on your wedding day in one of our Novia Mia bridal gowns, we’d encourage you to think twice about your underwear selection on appointment day. Nude-colored, seamless underwear works perfectly under bridal gowns and a strapless bra is often useful (even if you bring it along in your handbag!).
All gowns, bridal accessories, and jewelry are all final sale. Terms and conditions are required to be signed before making any made-to-order purchase with us.
